As a Children's Home Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a new children's home, ensuring it operates at the highest standards of care. You will lead and inspire a team of social practitioners to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children entrusted to our care. Your role will include building strong relationships with local authorities, key stakeholders, and the children themselves, while overseeing the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the home.



Accountabilities for Children's Home Manager:


  • Overall Responsibility for Care Home Operation:


Take overall responsibility for all aspects of running the care home, ensuring that the staff team provides children with a valued and fulfilling life.


Maximise the potential of the children physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially while ensuring their overall well-being.


  • Stakeholder Interaction:


Lead the interaction between the care home management team and all key stakeholders to ensure the safe and efficient running of the service.


Maintain open communication and collaborative relationships with relevant parties to support the children's best interests.


  • Financial and Operational Success:


Be accountable for the success of the care home branch with respect to budgets, targets, key performance indicators, staffing quality, and delivery of service.


Ensure that care home operations meet and exceed the targets outlined in the Statement of Purpose (SOP).


  • Referrer Relationships:


Build and maintain effective relationships with current and potential referral sources such as Local Authorities, GPs, and Hospitals.


Actively target and secure new referrer relationships for existing and new facilities, expanding the network of support for the care home.


  • Document and Procedure Compliance:


Oversee the completion of all required Policies, Pathways, Risk Assessments, Care Plans, Health and Safety Checks, and other essential documentation.


Ensure that the care home operates in compliance with all necessary regulations and standards.


  • Physical Presence and Managerial Responsibilities:


Maintain a physical presence at the Home over agreed periods throughout the week to oversee operations and address any immediate needs.


Maintain managerial responsibilities at the Home 7 days per week to ensure continuous support for the children and staff.


  • Relationships with Councils and Referrers:


Conduct liaisons and meetings with Councils both within and outside London, keeping them informed of available properties for service users.


Understand their requirements and adapt services to meet their needs where possible.


  • Driving Awareness and Relationships:


Take responsibility for driving awareness among referrers in service lines and strategic imperatives.


Build multi-level relationships with Referrers, Clinicians, Practice Managers, Secretaries, and other key influencers.


Develop a full understanding of their requirements and changing needs to align the care home's services effectively.


In this role, you will play a pivotal part in providing exceptional care and support to children while ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the care home. Your ability to manage relationships, meet targets, and maintain high-quality care standards will be essential in achieving the mission of the care home.

Essential skills/Experience *Degree Level Qualification. *Level 5 or above qualification in Management. *Ofsted knowledge. *5 consecutive years’ experience up to present *Currently holding care role.
Ideal Candidate/Profile Currently holding a registered manager role with extensive experience. Competent IT skills Confident in English reading and writing

Our home on Downham Way in Bromley, London has 3 spacious bedrooms, a study room, a living space, an office and sleeping area for staff and a large outside garden. Our mission for any child staying here is to foster a neuro-safe space for young people to pursue their dreams without barriers.
