Sunrise Community Nursery is looking to employ a Level 3 Qualified Nursery Room Leader for our Babyroom and Preschool room.


Job Title: Toddler Room leader

Responsible to: Management

Working Hours: 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday

Location: SE4 2LW, Brockley way


About Sunrise Community Nursery

We are a community-run Nursery with charitable status for babies and children aged from 3 months to 5 years old. We are a large and vibrant setting, providing fantastic early education and childcare to around 110 children.

We believe that every child is unique and deserves a good start in life. Our children are nurtured and cared for by experienced staff in a specially designed space to maximise their potential.

We welcome children and families from all backgrounds into our nursery, and are proud to be run by and for the community. This means we have a genuinely diverse group of staff and children, and work to be inclusive and open throughout the nursery.

The ideal applicant will be driven, passionate, and committed to providing the greatest early childhood education and care possible for our young children in order to support their growth. 



Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be the 2nd in charge to the room leader, room leader experience not necessary but experience is required


  • To monitor, review, and coach the staff on your team, as well as to plan the effective deployment of personnel throughout the day to ensure that the activities and routines encourage the greatest outcomes for the children.
  • To provide a stimulating and varied programmes of play and learning opportunities.
  • To ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
  • To manage a team effectively in Room leaders absence.
  • To fulfil legal and statutory requirements and to supervise staff on a daily basis.
  • To agree and set team goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
  • To monitor and assess the quality of provision within your room, ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.


For this role you must have:


  • You will hold relevant qualifications in Childcare/Early Years at Level 2 or above.
  • Passionate about early years education and childcare.
  • Good knowledge of EYFS.

  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge all children.
  • Promote good progress and outcomes by children.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of early learning and Birth to 5.
  • Plan education and care taking account of the needs of all children
  • Adapt education and care to respond to the strengths and needs of all children.
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and provide a safe learning environment
  • Fulfil wider professional responsibilities. 




Experience:


• Leadership skills 

• Enthusiasm for working with young children

• Must have supervisory experience

• An interest in the care, learning and development of young children

• A commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare.
