This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the people we support.
You will work flexibly across a small number of supported living settings, where individuals receive 24/7 support to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
Our supported living services are primarily based in Cheltenham, with 2 additional settings in Gloucester.
You will support adults aged 18 - 65 who may have learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism and behaviours that may be considered challenging.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker, you will provide high quality, person centred support tailored to each individual's needs and preferences
- Supporting individuals with personal care, which may include washing, showering, shaving, dressing and other personal tasks where required
- Helping individuals maintain a clean, safe and comfortable home by assisting with hoovering, dusting, tidying, laundry and general household tasks
- Supporting individuals to take an active role in their local community and access a wide range of activities, including education, employment, leisure and recreational opportunities
- Encouraging individuals to build and maintain friendships and social networks
- Promoting independence and helping each person achieve their individual goals and aspirations
Working Hours:
We offer guaranteed hour contracts, with staff working on a 2 week rolling rota, including weekends.
Days
Mornings + Evenings or Long Days
- Full time: 40 hours per week
- Part time: 20 hours per week
Waking Nights / Sleep Ins - 10:30pm to 7:30am
- Full time: 36 hours per week
- Part time: 27 hours per week
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
- Both male and female applicants are welcome
- Experience supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Genuine commitment to supporting people to live independent, fulfilling and meaningful lives
- The ability to work flexibly as part of a team and follow individual care and support plans
- Positive, patient and respectful approach to supporting people with different needs
