The High View approach is truly personalised, recognising each person referred to us has a unique set of presentations. We specialise in assessing, caring for and rehabilitating adults aged 18-65 with brain injury and co-morbid diagnoses often related to alcohol or substance misuse, mental health, challenging behaviour, and other complex needs.


We are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant (Level 1) to join the team.


Requirements;

  • Full time / Part time (Hours to be discussed on interview)
  • MUST be able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week
  • MUST have previous care experience
  • Qualification: GCSE/ LEVEL 1/2 IN Health and Social Care
  • Must be flexible to work weekends
  • At least 6 months experience in Care
  • At least I night per week



Job Purpose

  • The purpose of the role is to engage with the Client (service user) base - predominantly adult Clients (aged 18 to 65) with acquired or traumatic brain injury and a range of other complex needs (e.g. history of substance misuse)
  • To provide a professional residential service to Clients with Alcohol /Substance Misuse/ Mental Health Problems and Acquired Brain Injury
  • To work within the Organisation’s vision and values of “Authentic warmth and care” while engaging with Clients positively and therapeutically 24/7
  • To promote independence and provide support and guidance in all areas of individual Clients’ personal care and relevant domestic tasks within the home.
  • Providing assistance with personal* and physical care to enable each individual Client, based on an assessment of their condition, abilities needs and aspirations in order to promote independence and realise potential 


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post with due regard to the Company’s Policies and Procedures
  • Able to prepare nutritious meals for Clients, taking into account individual dietary needs
  • Compliant with medication protocols and administer medication as stated in individual care plans
  • Helping Clients to participate in community-based activities to further leisure and social interests with emphasises on community integration
  • Recognising and supporting emotional, racial, cultural and religious needs and preferences of Clients, and reflecting these in the services offered
  • Communicating responsively and encouraging Clients using the Client’s preferred method of communication to make informed choices, by ensuring adequate information and support is available to them
  • Contributing to a person-centred planning (PCP) process as required and ensure records and Client care files are maintained and updated at regular intervals in accordance with the policies and procedure guidelines
  • Undertaking responsibilities and duties if required as a keyworker, including supporting residents to work towards goals set in there their care plan and reviewing changes in their care
  • Working as part of a team, attending supervisions, appraisals, staff meetings and engaging in relevant training sessions and applying modifications in practice as required
  • Undertaking tasks allocated or as directed on shift ensuring you are clear of your roles and responsibilities and meet the needs of the service.

Our Facilities

Services are provided in four specially converted houses in South East London, offering 29 individual bedrooms and transitional living units for 29 younger adults. One of our houses is a female only dedicated unit.
