Atrium Healthcare are currently recruiting on behalf of a client for a Deputy Manager to join a children’s residential home. The role will include involvement in all aspects of the home guiding the team and reporting to the Registered Manager.


Duties

· Working alongside the Registered Manager ensure that the home and staff operate in full accordance with all statutory, regulatory and standards requirements including:

Children Acts 1989 & 2004

Care Standards Act 2000

Children’s Homes Regulations 2015

· To supervise the staff team with direction and support from the Registered Manager;

· To be responsible for ensuring that effective records are maintained in accordance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated Regulations and Standards.

· To work effectively with Commissioning Partners, Police, LSCB and Ofsted etc.

Support of Staff:

· Ensure the day-to-day management, monitoring and supervision of staff is facilitated in a professional and competent manner.

· To promote professionalism and standards to the team in line with policy and procedures.

· Be responsible for the deployment of staff on duty to ensure that the work of the unit is undertaken.

· Participate in regular staff meetings which are informative, produce action and are minuted.

· Participate in the induction of staff.

· Provide support to the Service Manager and cover in the manager’s absence and annual leave.

· To report to a manager/regional or other appropriate person, malpractice, suspicions or evidence which may suggest it.

Qualifications

- Minimum Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)

- Relevant qualification or course attendance certificates

- Good standard of secondary education

- Driving Licence & Business Insurance

Experience

· Residential childcare experience (5 years minimum) residential childcare worker.

· Child Protection Supervision of staff
