Job Title: Room Leader – 2-4 year olds’ room
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, maximum 50 hours per week
Salary: £28,000 - £28,500 Dependent on qualifications and experience
Essential qualifications: Minimum Level 3 in childcare or equivalent
We are looking for a friendly, fun-loving character who will fit in with our close team. We pride ourselves on providing a home from home setting for the children and achieve this by working closely as a team and with all our families.
We are looking for a driven and ambitious candidate with natural leadership qualities to lead our 2-4 year old room, taking on a key carer role and planning activities, monitoring the performance of the overall room and team and planning for future improvements. They will be expected to promote, encourage and cascade good practice throughout the setting and to be a role model and mentor less experience team members. They will have the chance to make the room their own, working closely with their team and management to continue to provide the best environment possible for our children.
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Having fun, joining in and getting messy with the children!
· Supporting the room and whole setting to provide the best curriculum we can, in line with the EYFS, through evaluation and future planning.
· Modelling high quality planning, observations, assessments and recording of children’s development to the team
· Ensure parents/carers are kept fully informed and included in everything we do, working in close partnership.
· Establishing warm, caring relationships with the children and families and leading an environment that fosters this
· Supporting the team to teach children to foster enthusiasm and a love for learning.
· Actively support the development of children’s language and communication skills by reading, singing and non-stop talking!
· Be dedicated to improve themselves, their team and the whole setting.
