Nursery Nurse

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of a quality Montessori Nursery School who are looking to employ an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Level 3 Qualified Nursery Nurse for quality setting based near Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees.

Purpose of Post:

• To be vigilant and have a high regard for Safeguarding all children, staff and adults.
• Providing a high standard of quality, care and education.

Key Duties

• Ensuring you follow the strict dress code in line with staff handbook.
• Acting as a mentor for junior staff.
• Taker an active role in completing Risk Assessments for your room when needed.
• Take ownership of this role, research new and exciting ideas and activities to further enhance the room.
• To actively get to know your rooms’ children. Getting to know all children within the setting.
• To actively be involved in planning, potential planning and setting up exciting activities.
• Ensuring the planning book is completed on a regular basis, taking an active role in this often.
• Attend meetings when necessary to discuss ideas, issues, concerns and support each other.
• Working in conjunction with the Room Leaders from all settings to ensure company standards and branding remains consistent at all times.
• Ensuring all parent handovers are done in a polite and professional manner.  
• To provide a high standard of childcare
• Have in-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented.
• Have a good knowledge of child development, specific to your age group. To be researching new practices and ideas.
• Supporting children during their settling in sessions and first days, ensuring a first day pack has been sent out.,
• Where appropriate focussed learning to take place daily without fail (phonics, numeracy, workbooks)
• Create an environment that supports the childcare needs of individuals.
• Undertake any quality assurance scheme identified as appropriate by the nursery.
• Develop an open and positive relationship with staff. 
• To bring to the attention of the Room Leader/Nursery Manager issues or concerns.
• Ensuring behaviour policy is consistent at all times.
• To ensure the welfare and safety of the children placed in the setting. To be fully informed and knowledgeable about the safeguarding policy and steps to be taken in this respect.
• To undertake good and effective communications and create positive working relationships with all staff, volunteers, students, parents, guardians and carers, whilst being a positive role model.

Requirements

• Have relevant Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent
• Have good working knowledge of the EYFS
