Job Description:

As a Community Support worker, you will be responsible for providing essential care and support to senior adult service users within their own homes. You will encourage and assist individuals to live more fulfilling lives, remain independent, manage health conditions, manage mobility and partake in activities within their local communities. You must have a kind and compassionate nature, a responsible attitude, and a passion for delivering the highest standard of care to services users ensuring their individual needs, health requirements, personal preferences, lifestyle choices and dignity are maintained at all times. You will report to the Registered Manager and Care Co-Ordinator.


Key Responsibilities include:

· Providing high-quality person-centred care to service users within their own homes and in accordance with their support plan.

· Providing full personal care support including washing, dressing, bathing, toileting, medication management and/or assisting with these activities.

· Supporting service users with mobility needs including the safe use of manual handling or lifting equipment and/or aids

· Administering medications and monitoring health conditions

· Supporting domestic daily living tasks such as cleaning, shopping and meal preparation and feeding if necessary

· Support service users to access the community, socialise and undertake leisure activities

· Maintaining appropriate records at all times, observing and reporting any concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate person immediately

· Promoting service users’ health and wellbeing, independence, choices and dignity at all times enabling them to live life to the fullest

· Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals in your care


Requirements:

· Experienced in senior adult’s care and end of life care

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Empathy and compassion for service users and their families

· Understand the principles of person-centred care

· Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to support services

· Flexibility to work a range of shift patterns suitable to the needs of the service user including early mornings, evenings, every other weekend and illness cover

· Must be reliable and work to company terms and conditions

· A full driving licence and access to a car


Hours:

20 - 35 hours per week

Alternate weekends

7am - 1:30pm and 4pm - 8:30pm
