Atrium Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a client for Support Workers to provide support to Children with Emotional Behaviour Disorders, Autism/ Learning Difficulties and Challenging Behaviours based in Leiston. The home is rated "Good" in all areas!
Applicants may have experience of working with children who present behavioural challenges, possibly those with additional mental health and wellbeing needs, Autism or ADHD, however this is not essential.
The successful candidate will have an empathetic and understanding nature, and a desire to aid children in achieving their aspirations.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing assistance and support usually on a 1.1 basis.
- To assist children in positive decision making.
- To support the care planning and behaviour management of children in the home.
- Helping children to develop practical and personal skills.
- Assisting with educational days/classes.
- Record keeping and documenting daily activities including medication.
- To support individuals to utilize community facilities.
Shift pattern:
- 8 hour shifts. These are worked around a rota of weekdays and weekends.
- Sleep in's may be required and will be paid in addition to salary at £45 per night.
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care in Childcare (or commitment to undertaking this qualification).
- Full UK driving license.
