Support Worker for our Supported Living services at Hertfordshire, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. Supporting the Service Manager and/or Deputy Service Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work for My Homecare to help ensure we have the best staff teams offering excellent support services. This role also offers great opportunities for career progression to help you develop your knowledge and skills.

My Homecare supports adults with learning disabilities. What you will be doing:

Some of our residents have complex needs and can display challenging behaviour at times. Experience is preferred but not essential as specialist training is provided before you start. Our clients require your support to maintain their safety and well-being in their home. You will always be working with one or more of your colleagues and will receive full support and supervision from our experienced management team.

Working in a care environment can be challenging at times, though it is always rewarding. We will need you to have experience in working with People with autism. this is an opportunity to be part of a valued team and develop your career. You should be able to work full or part-time days to suit the needs of the business, but with the flexibility that also suits a work-life balance.

Your Role:

  • Supporting people to live the life they want to lead
  • To maintain their existing skills and help them to develop new ones
  • Look after their home, cooking, shopping and keep their home tidy and safe
  • Look after any medications and their health
  • Personal care
  • Assist with the management of their finances
  • Help them set goals as set out in their support plans

Our expectations:

  • All our support workers treat our clients with dignity and respect
  • Follow the procedures for reporting and safeguarding concerts and incidents
  • Keep accurate records
  • Attend training
  • Attend support worker team meetings and supervision
  • Work as part of a team

Shifts:

  • Days and Sleep Ins OR Nights
  • Flexible shift pattern based on client needs

Pay:

  • £12.45 - 14ph based on experience and qualifications
  • Permanent contracts 

Requirements:

  • Alternate weekends required
  • Experience with Learning Disabilities/Autism – minimum 1 year
  • Driving licence, preferably
  • Male or female positions available
