The Avenue Day Nursery took over the nursery in Mildenhall in April 2017, our nursery in Mildenhall, Marlborough, Wiltshire is situated in a local village just over 1 mile north-east of the market town of Marlborough itself. Within the village of Mildenhall the nursery children enjoy local walks to explore the church and local play park.
Mildenhall is a village and a parish in north-eastern Wiltshire, containing three communities – the village of Mildenhall, and the hamlets of Poulton and Stitchcombe. It lies one and a half miles north-east of Marlborough, and nine and a half miles west of Hungerford.
Our nursery is open 51 weeks of the year, Monday through to Friday 8:00m-6:00pm excluding bank holidays and the week between Christmas and new year.

The Room Leader spearheads the educational and developmental activities within their designated room, providing leadership and direction to ensure a high-quality learning environment that aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and the nursery curriculum. The Room Leader is responsible for nurturing an atmosphere that supports each child's growth and learning journey, fostering strong collaborative relationships with staff, children, and their families. By overseeing the planning and execution of engaging, age-appropriate activities, the Room Leader ensures that educational objectives are met, that staff are effectively supported and guided, and that the nursery's values and educational ethos are embodied consistently across all interactions and practices. The Room Leader also plays a critical role in safeguarding and welfare, maintaining vigilant standards of health, safety, and care, and
ensuring staff adherence to all nursery policies and procedures.

Throughout our careers, Emma and I have worked in a variety of both childcare and nursing roles. After having our own children we were aware of the lack of quality childcare within the area.
We were determined to develop a nursery that could offer quality, flexibility and most importantly a caring nurturing environment for our little ones.
We opened our first Avenue Day Nursery at Savernake in August 2007, followed by Marlborough in 2014 and the take over of nurseries in Mildenhall and Aldbourne in April 2017.
