Karrek Community is a Home Care agency in Cornwall, and Karrek Lifestyles is a department offering 24/7 support for vulnerable individuals in their own homes. We are looking for an experienced and professional individual to take responsibility for the management, initially, of a support package for a young man with autism, who requires 3:1 support and then, over time, to develop new packages. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide leadership to a specialist staff team providing complex support 24/7 on a 3:1 basis.
- To ensure the team provides excellent person-centred support in accordance with best contemporary practices.
- To maintain excellent relationships with all families, staff and supporting professionals.
- To contribute to the development of additional complex support services within the company.
- Play a key role in developing the company generally as part of the management team.
- To participate in the on-call rota, providing out of hours support to staff, individuals, and families
- To manage the day to day allocated team resources within the financial budgets
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Good English – written and verbal
- RQF Diploma Level 4
- Supervisory or management qualification
Skills:
- Proficient written skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Car driver/owner essential
Experience:
- Previous experience of working in similar environment
- Previous experience of working in supervisory role/leading a team
- Experience of working with supported individuals
- Knowledge of rota planning
- Understanding of Behaviour that Challenges and PBS training

A Community Interest Company was formed to meet this need, which was founded by Paul and Geeta Ashton, who moved to Cornwall to undertake the task.
