We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our residential setting located in Burford
Essential Requirements :
5 GCSE's (Including English and Maths)
Registered Nurse (Adult)
Computer Literate
Experience working within a residential setting
MUST be able to work within a shift structure which may include night and weekend work.
You will be responsible for the provision of nursing care for all residents and for maintaining a homely, supportive and stimulating environment to improve or sustain the residents quality of life.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Assessment and Planning: to ensure that all residents have full nursing assessments, an individual care plan and risk assessment, taking into account residents preferences and preserving their dignity at all times.
2. Holistic Care: help and ensure the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents through holistic care by talking to them, taking them out, engaging with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
3. Professional Practice: to act at all times in a professional manner and exercise leadership by example, keeping professionally updated and aware of developments in nursing practice, theory and research and to pass on this knowledge to other staff when appropriate.
Assessment and Planning
· prepare and contribute to full nursing assessments for residents
· prepare, contribute to and maintain residents individual care plans that accurately reflect their preferences and needs, and are in accordance with EFHL Values.
· be accountable for the safe custody of drugs, their administration and disposal in accordance with the NMC’s Statement on the Administration of Medicines
· ensure that equipment and stocks are efficiently stored and economically used to meet the needs of resident care
Holistic Care
· to ensure that residents care meets their individual physical and mental needs
· to liaise with day and night colleagues to promote continuity of care
· to ensure that all resident areas are hygienic, safe and comfortable at all times
· to ensure supervision and communication is effective and promotes quality of care and environmen
Professional Practice
· to comply with the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice at all times
· to be fully aware of all regulations regarding SOVA, health and safety, Fire Procedures, Control of Infection, COSHH and Moving and Handling and to report and record all accidents, incidents and complaints
· maintain accurate records in accordance with the NMC’s standards on Record Keeping
· supervise and motivate the care assistants and participate in their training for NVQ Level 2 & 3 qualification
· participate with the General Manager and Clinical Care Manager in meetings and training which may occur outside of the usual shift arrangement
· report to the Clinical Care Manager or General Manager on all matters of grievance and discipline
These are the normal duties, which the Home requires from the role. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and all employees will be required from time to time to perform other duties as may be required by the Company to ensure provision of the service to residents.
