Team Leader:


We are looking for a Team Leader who will supervise and motivate a team of support workers, whilst also completing a hands-on role to ensure the highest quality of care and support offered to our service users.

Ideally previous experience in domiciliary care, supervisory role, experience in managing and leading staffing teams to deliver positive results.

The right candidate if no previous experience must be happy to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Social Care.

Working hours - 25 hours per week, 5 hours daily from 9.30am to 14.30pm Monday to Friday


Role Overview

· Managing and supporting workers so they can perform their roles safely and to the best of their ability

· Supporting your manager to run your workforce according to standards and legislation

· Acting as a positive role model to colleagues

· Developing care plans that outline what care and support individuals needs and implement

· Undertake risk assessments and implement

· Leading team meetings, supervisions, and spot checks

· Working in partnership with other professionals to ensure individuals get the support they need

· To participate in out of hours On Call Rota

Relationship with Colleagues

· To act as a member of the staff team supporting colleagues and being prepared to give and receive support and advice as necessary

· To participate in staff meetings as required

· To inform and fully communicate with colleagues’ relevant information and developments.

Personal Development

· Take responsibility for own professional development and keep abreast a good practice, company policy and procedures in order to develop skills, knowledge and experience and to undertake all mandatory training

· Make use of regular professional supervisions

· Inform the Registered Manager of malpractice or evidence which may suggest this

Personal care is a term we use to refer to supporting you with personal hygiene and toileting, along with dressing and maintaining your personal appearance.


Some personal care tasks include:

  • Bathing and showering
  • Medication administration*
  • Applying lotions and creams as required
  • Dressing and getting ready for bed
  • Oral hygiene
  • Support with shaving
  • Foot care, especially if you are diabetic need to be extra vigilant with your feet (not podiatry or nail cutting)
  • Helping you to the toilet, including using a commode or bed pan
  • Changing continence pads, along with cleaning intimate areas
  • Support moving position in bed, to stretch and prevent bed sores


Care assistants are trained to provide all aspects of personal care, yet there may be some things you’d prefer to do for yourself - let us know.
