Responsibilities


1. This person will have full responsibility for operational management and leadership for the company by working with the company Director(s) and team to deliver person centric, safe, effective, responsive, caring, well-being services.

2. This person will have full responsibility for all regulatory compliance and governance.

3. This person will provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice within the operational delivery of the services to all clients and customers.

4. This person will be responsible for clients and staff well-being.

5. This person will direct and control the work and resources of the company and ensure the recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves fully compliant and high-quality service delivery to all clients and customers.

6. This person will input into to the delivery of the company business plan and monitor progress against this plan to ensure that the company attains its objectives as a sustainable organisation, in as cost-effective and efficient manner as possible.

7. This person will provide operational management of the team, to keep them aware of developments within the industry and ensure, along with the company Director(s), that the appropriate policies and procedures are developed to meet the company’s mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant legislation and regulations.

8. This person will establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with clients, family, major customers, relevant local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range of quality and compliant services.

9. This person will support the representation of the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, local government departments and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms e.g.: service user contracts, equipment, PPE and work wear.

10. This person will deliver Quality Management systems and audits throughout the company to monitor and ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and other relevant regulations and legislation e.g. Mental Capacity Act 2005.

11. This person will deliver the implementation of equal opportunities policies in all aspects of the company’s work in compliance with the Equality Act 2010.



Care 83 will operate as a small agile highly flexible service provider, with a flat management structure and a focus on the use of modern software systems and technology to deliver and monitor service performance in real time.

Care 83 has an altruistic element to its business model, in that its primary focus is NOT to generate significant returns for the company Director(s), but to return excess profits back to the business and staff, operating as a ‘not for profit organisation’.


The aim is to create a business model focused on delivery of high quality, professional care and support services, using highly trained, well-paid staff, who are appropriately recognised, respected and rewarded for their work. This will address the industry inherent issue of staff retention and therefore enable the business to create proper long term career paths for its employees.


Essential skills/experience


1. Hold a formal qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care. Ideally be at level 5 or on a formal pathway.

2. Have a minimum of 3-years’ experience in the role of Responsible Individual or Care (Registered) Manager, in Wales.

3. Have a thorough working knowledge of CIW and SCW.

Ideal candidate/profile


The person appointed to the Head of Care Operations role will need to be highly self-motivated, highly driven and enthusiastic, with a ‘can-do-attitude’ and not afraid to challenge the industry norms in a structed informed way.

The person will be required to roll their sleeves and turn their hands to whatever the business needs at that time.
