Benington Nursery (Benington, Stevenage) is looking for a fun and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The role will suit an enthusiastic and hard-working person with experience as a key-person in a similar setting. We are a small, friendly team and we are looking for someone to join us for 26 hours per week: 9am - 1pm Monday to Friday plus three afternoons of the candidates choice (1pm-3pm) term time only. Up to 30 hours (Monday to Friday 9am-3pm) possible for the right candidate.
- Monday to Friday 9am - 1pm (Plus 3 afternoons of your choice, 1pm - 3pm)
- Can offer 30 hours for the right candidate (9am - 3pm) Mon - Friday
- Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in June 2022
- The nursery consists of one room of mixed ages from 2-5 years old
- Paid as monthly salary paid equally over 12 months
Job Requirements
- Full and relevant childcare qualification at Level 3 or above
- Sound understanding of child development and children’s needs
- Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Ability to plan and implement a nursery curriculum
- Previous experience as a Key Person
- Ability to write clear and concise observations
- Ability to build up strong relationships with children, their parents/carers and other staff
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding and Child protection
Typical work activities
- Teaching all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage;
- Helping children achieve the early learning goals;
- Interacting and supporting children in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning;
- Working closely in partnership with parents;
- Planning the indoor and outdoor environment in order to provide a positive context for learning and teaching;
- Planning experiences and activities that are challenging but achievable;
- Meeting requirements for the observation, assessment and recording of children's development;
- Organising time and material resources;
- Using creative and practical skills to prepare learning materials
