Field Care Supervisor - Domiciliary Care

Shifts:

Full time

Alternate weekend availability essential 

Main purpose of the role:

The primary purpose of the Health Care Field Supervisor is to ensure the delivery of high- quality, person-centred care by supporting frontline staff and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role acts as a vital link between management, care staff, and service users, promoting best practice through supervision, spot checks, training validation, and audit activity.

The Field Supervisor will conduct client-facing visits to complete initial assessments, introduce the service to new clients, and ensure they fully understand their care package. They will also carry out regular service reviews, gather feedback, and act as a key point of contact for next of kin (NOK).

By championing the CQC’s five key standards — Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led — and using digital tools such as Birdie for auditing, the Field Supervisor plays a crucial role in embedding quality, compliance, and compassionate care across the service.

Key Responsibilities:
Staff Support & Supervision

Conduct regular spot checks, observations, and supervisions of care staff to monitor performance and uphold quality standards.

Sign off Click Learn e-learning modules following staff observations and competency checks.

Provide on-the-job support and mentoring, particularly to new care assistants, promoting confidence and capability.

Act as a key point of contact between care staff and management, supporting open communication and effective teamwork.

Support a positive working environment by acting as a point of contact between staff and management, helping to resolve day-to-day queries and challenges.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Carry out audits using the Birdie system, including:

MAR charts

Daily care logs

Risk assessments

Service user documentation

Identify areas of concern or improvement and escalate promptly to the management team.Champion and embed the CQC 5 Key Standards: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led.

Participate in internal audits, mock inspections, and quality reviews, reporting concerns and improvements as needed.

Client-Facing Responsibilities

Undertake initial assessments of new service users alongside care staff to inform person-centred care planning.

Introduce new clients to our service, guiding them through the Service User Guide and ensuring they understand their care package.

Maintain positive relationships with service users and their families/Next of Kin (NOK) through regular service reviews, courtesy calls, and feedback collection.

Respond promptly to client queries or concerns, escalating to management when appropriate.

Record and report all relevant service user information, including:

Response to emergencies, accidents, and incidents

Safeguarding matters

Contact with family members, caregivers, and other health and social care professionals

Other matters as required by Sky Vigil Care Ltd.

Keep all information about service users and their families secure and confidential.

Work well as part of the team:

Work collaboratively as part of a wider care and management team to ensure high- quality service delivery.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines consistently, ensuring compliance with internal standards and CQC regulations.

Conduct regular spot checks, supervisions, and direct observations of care staff to maintain service quality and support staff development.

Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings, as well as multidisciplinary meetings involving service users, families, and external agencies (e.g. social services, health professionals).

Participate in ongoing training, appraisals, and professional development activities to ensure continued learning and improvement.

Use digital systems (e.g. Birdie) to carry out audits and maintain accurate care records.

Support the induction and onboarding of new care staff, ensuring they are confident and competent in their roles.

Maintain strong communication with both frontline staff and management, acting as a key link to support smooth operational delivery.

Represent the organisation professionally in client-facing roles, including assessments, reviews, and feedback calls.
