About Us

The Treloar Trust provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities from all over the UK and overseas. Our aim is to prepare these young people for adult life, giving them the confidence and skills to achieve their full potential.

Founded in 1907 by the Lord Mayor of London, Treloar’s is a registered charity with a turnover of around £19 million. Most of our income comes from fees paid by local authorities or by private funding but we also need to fundraise approximately £2 million every year to provide additional therapies, support and equipment to keep Treloar’s at the forefront of education and services for physically disabled people.

Treloar School and Treloar College are run by the Trust. They are comprised of a non-maintained Nursery (2-5 years), School(4-18 years) and College (16 to 25 years). In School we challenge young people and nurture their abilities to prepare them for the next stage in their lives, our aim being that every student leaves having achieved at least one nationally recognised qualification. In College, our aim is to enable all learners to achieve their long-term goals of a more independent life and make a meaningful contribution to their community, including higher education and employment.

Treloar’s Values:

  • Working together to enrich and empower the Treloar’s community towards the common purpose, by individual accountability, open and honest communication and celebrating our achievements.
  • Embracing continuous self and team improvement, innovation and responsiveness to change, and striving for excellence.
  • Acting with integrity, ensuring sustainability by positioning Treloar’s as the leader in its field.
  • Respect diversity and each other, being people-centred, valuing individuals and responding to their living and learning needs.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent services which are needs driven, exceed expectations and where everyone is responsible for the quality and financial sustainability of the service we deliver.

The Trust also offers a range of Outreach Services to the wider disabled community and lets campus facilities to local sports and activity groups and for residential stays.
