Heart Teaching is working alongside a special school located in Medway who are Seeking a band 6 occupational therapist with experience of working with children and adolescents with special educational needs.
You will be working with students aged 11-19 who have a wide variety of conditions including autistic spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, and respiratory, neurological and neuromuscular pathologies.
This role provides many exciting opportunities including assessment, group work, one to one therapy and class-based interventions, working in collaboration with teaching staff, Speech and language therapy and physiotherapy. The therapy team are responsible for integrating clinical intervention across all aspects of the educational curriculum ensuring that pupils are able to readily access and engage in learning.
Salary in line with Band 6 qualification, to be successful in this role, you ll need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to effectively motivate and inspire others. You ll also have exceptional organizational skills combined with good IT knowledge.
