An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist undertake a permanent, full-time role within an Eating Disorders Hospital in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

This location specialises in treating children and young people who are diagnosed with an eating disorder and require inpatient / residential, day-care or outpatient care.

Their treatment programme prepares young people for managing life back in the community and provides transitional support for up to 12 weeks after discharge. Families receive a wide range of support in finding ways to prevent relapse on discharge.

The wards are well designed so that patients share high quality communal areas with children of similar age. Available support includes ensuring education is maintained through the on-site Ofsted registered school.

Young people and their families are offered a treatment approach that is focused on re-establishing normal life. The skilled team of psychiatrists, therapists, nursing and dietetic staff offer support to re-establish eating patterns, develop coping skills to manage symptoms of the disorder, restore physical health and develop a positive outlook for the future.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist working here, you will be directly enhancing the lives of the patients by delivering psychologically-informed therapeutic treatments, enabling a timely discharge into the community.

You will be supported by an experienced multi-disciplinary team of professional Managers, Support Workers and Nurses whilst developing your skills and knowledge within this specialist area of care.

To apply for this role, you will need a Diploma in Occupational Therapy or BSc in Occupational Therapy and have full HCPC Registration. 2 years of post-qualification experience is required, ideally within an Eating Disorder setting.
