Deputy Nurse manager

We are looking for any enthusiastic, driven and committed individual that wants to make a difference to those people that they care for. You will oversee a team of nurses, seniors and carers in newly refurbished 44 bedded care home. This post comes with some Supernumerary hours and involves weekend work on a rota basis and on call shared with the manager.
Skills, knowledge and qualifications
•Care home experience of at least 2 years
•First level nurse
•Previous management/supervisory experience
•Satisfactory DBS Check, employment references and check against the ISA List (where applicable)
•Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans for service users, and assist care staff in their responsibilities.
•Take responsibility for all clinical decisions
•Report any concerns about a service user or work colleague to the manager
•To carry out all nursing interventions in a professional manner and in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct for nurses.
•Ensure all documentation is completed and evaluated as required by the care home in a timely manner and in accordance with the standards set by Exclusive Care and the NMC
•Ensure all Staff Members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Care Home, and to the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of Residents.
•To interact with Residents’ to ensure that their health care needs are being met and resolve any problems where appropriate.
•Report any ill-health amongst Residents and make requests for GP / Professional visits where necessary.
•Ensure meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality, and that Residents’ dietary needs are met.
•Order, receive, store, administer or support to self-administer and dispose of medication in accordance with the policy and procedure of Exclusive Care.
•Support and assist the Home Manager in auditing Care Plan documentation, to ensure best practice.
•Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Residents personal and financial affairs, and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with Residents.
•Ensure the Care Home operates in accordance with all statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.
•Maintain effective communications with the Home Manager.
•Investigate, record and report incidents/accidents in the absence of the Home Manager
•Supervise professional visits and liaise with GPs.
•Ensure a clear and concise handover report is given to all Staff Members.
•Arrange / participate in Staff and Resident meetings in the absence of the Home Manager.
•Assist the Home Manager with formal supervision / appraisal of Staff Members in line with Company policy, and with on-going informal assessment of the work of Staff Members, to ensure consistently high standards
•Implement and initiate induction training for all Staff Members.
•Be ‘On Call’ for advice/action in any emergencies which may arise out of hours.
•In the absence of the Home Manager, organise workload by forward planning off duty to ensure that there is sufficient Staff cover, and deal with problems where necessary.
•In the absence of the Home Manager, fill any Resident vacancy by liaising with Social Services and health authorities/boards and assessing/selecting suitable Resident’s. (These places are to be offered within the normal terms of residency and the fee structure in operation within the Care Home at the time).
•In the absence of the Home Manager, monitor and control sickness absence in line with Company policy.
•Adhere to, and assist with the implementation of all HR policies & procedures. Including implementing and managing the Company’s Discipline and Dismissal policies and procedures, and Grievance policies and procedures.
•Liaise with external professionals e.g., social workers, GPs and other professionals
•Assist the Home Manager with external audits and regulatory requirements.
