Registered Clinical/Forensic Psychologist

You will be supporting people who have a primary diagnosis or mental health needs and/or a personality disorder across a variety of environments, including the Medium Secure services, Low Secure services, and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
As a Registered Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will have experience of working in mental health and a strong motivation to work in forensic services. You will be responsible for providing consultation, assessment, and intervention across two wards.
From Psychologists, PBS Practitioners, Speech and Language Therapists to Art Therapists, Dramatherapists and Assistant Psychologists, you ll enjoy being part of the Department of Psychological Therapies team which consist of a variety of professionals with expertise in supporting people with a wide range of needs. These include offending behaviours, sex offending, trauma, substance abuse, personality disorders and enduring mental health needs.

Salary - Band 7 Equivalent
Hours - 37.5, Full-Time
*Applications from Newly Qualified Clinical/Forensic Psychologist will be considered.
+ Autonomous in managing your own caseload, which will involve working with complex service-users.
+ Providing both long & short-term work, which includes being able to undertake clinical assessments to determine clinical needs & treatment plans.
+ Maintaining monthly clinical supervision as well as regular line-management supervision
+ Providing clinical supervision to nursing staff/unqualified therapy staff as appropriate and facilitating in the provision of reflective practice.
+ Providing both written & verbal contributions to MDT & CPA process
+ Supporting the MDT in the development and review of care plans

Where you will be working
Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET
You will be working at Thornford Park, a 130 bedded independent hospital that supports service users that require medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition to these services, there is also a PICU Mental Health Service.
The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering people in their recovery and rehabilitation.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with a personality disorder and females and males in a PICU service.
