Quarry Mount Care Home in Swindon is a warm, friendly caring home. We have an opportunity available to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated person in the role of Assistant Manager.
A suitable candidate will provide support to the Registered Manager.
As Assistant Manager you will provide support to the registered Manager across all aspects of management, providing a safe, customer focused and hospitable environment for residents and visitors.
The key responsibilities of our Assistant Manager include:
•Supporting the Home Manager in the implementation of all policies, procedures, quality assurance and meeting business objectives.
•Supporting the training and development of all staff, including induction of new staff.
•Encouraging the practice for the resident’s well-being and social interaction.
•Promoting good communication between residents, families, staff and other professional’s that are involved in the home.
•Positively promote and assist marketing the service to potential new residents.
•Liaising with the Registered Manager and Director/s across the range of operational activity,
•Being able to oversee the service during the Manager s absence.
•A key role within the home, is taking the time to get to know our residents and their families so that you can assist with validating the decisions that are made about their care.
•You will oversee and assist every aspect of the care and activities within the home, including developing and updating care plans and maintaining clear, accurate auditing records.
•You will provide valuable support, guidance and assistance to the rest of our care team.
•You ll ensure adequate staffing is always maintained within the home through efficient management of staff rotas, and from time to time, will provide cover if necessary, as required.
•Above all, it s about ensuring our residents overall wellbeing is at the core of everything you do.
•Participate in the on call system and in the Registered Manager’s absence, deal with any issue’s or emergencies out of working hrs.
•You ll be an experienced Carer with at least an S/NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
•You ll also have leadership and recruitment experience in a care home, as well as knowledge of national standards and person centred care planning.
