On behalf of a small, person centred company, I am looking for a Home Manager for their well-regarded, modern elderly, residential home in the Luton area.
The home caters for up to 25 elderly residents with dementia. The home is a beautiful, older building that has been sympathetically restored to offer a warm, homely atmosphere and it situated near to the Luton area of Bedfordshire. Due to the current Manager moving on for a new challenge after several years, the home is in need in of a new Nurse qualified Home Manager to take the reins on this beautiful home.
Your role will include but will not be limited to ensuring highly quality person centred care is delivered at all times, occasionally carrying out nursing duties yourself when required, recruitment of staff, appraisals, disciplinaries, supervisions, budgeting, devising staff rota s, liaising with CQC, GP s, Social Workers and residents loved ones. You will identify and address an areas that need improving and be able to build relationships with CQC and local authorities.
The role is to be worked in a mature, flexible manner in that, as long as you are working hard and running the home well, you will able to manage your own hours. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required as with any senior role in the care industry.
The Nursing Home Manager will receive a salary of circa £35 000 - £40,000 although this could be negotiable for the right person.
In order to be considered for this Nursing Home Manager opportunity the ideal candidate:
- You must have experience of deputising within a care home
- You will ideally hold the Leadership/ Management qualification in Care Services or equivalent
- You MUST possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- A passion for person centred care, knowledge of the needs of older people
- You must possess a knowledge of CQC and the care home environment
- Be smartly presented and highly organised.
