Our Client manages a group of care homes across South Wales. The ethos of the group is to provide positive wellbeing outcomes by ensuring that privacy, dignity and choice for their older people is at the core of everything they do. The company has been operating in the care sector for over fifteen years and has developed a respected reputation amongst many stakeholders including local authorities, local councils and health boards.
They are seeking RNs / RMNs for one of their Care homes located in Rhayader.
You will be required to participate as part of a team in providing care for older persons; to assist in the planning and delivery of care to older persons ensuring that their personal, physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs are met; to ensure that the service provides opportunities for older persons to exercise choice and independence and participation in the community; to ensure that the personal dignity of each older person is promoted and that their privacy and confidentiality is respected.
RGN / RMN, experience in a care setting is an advantage but not essential.
Training and development provided.
NMC Registration Mandatory.
To take responsibility (as and when delegated), in the absence of the manager or deputy, for the provision of care to older persons and the safe running of the home.
To contribute to the development of and assist with the implementation of individually planned programmes of care and activities ensuring positive wellbeing outcomes for each older person.
To contribute to the establishment and review of care standards in the home.
To undertake direct tasks and participate in shift changes if required.
To undertake any reasonable task related to the provision of care as required by the manager/responsible individual of the home.
To report any problems/changes/complaints concerning the home or older persons to the management /appropriate authority.
To have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety at Work, and awareness of policies and procedures within the home.
To comply with NMC Code.
To participate in the delegation of tasks, training and supervision of junior staff.
To be up to date with developments in care, to attend education courses as required.
To comply (as far as possible and practicable) with CSSIW Minimum Standards.
To ensure that the procedures relating to the administration of medicines/ controlled drugs to older persons is adhered to.
To assist in ensuring that clinical procedures are carried out effectively and follow good practice guidance.
To ensure that nurses are responsible of individual learning as required and an appropriate personal portfolio kept. For re-validation purposes.
To communicate and cooperate with medical and paramedical staff regarding the care and treatment of older persons and ensure that all treatment and instructions are carried out and documented.
To assist mentoring of student nurses during their placements.
£14.40 per hour plus allowances up to 83 pence per hour [terms and conditions apply] plus a night duty enhancement of £20 a night shift [terms and conditions apply]
They currently have vacancies for contracts of up to 48 hours per week or as a Bank Nurse. They are flexible to allow for the exigencies of the service, such as shift working, Bank Holidays.
