Accommodation
Temple Ewell Nursing Home was originally opened in 1986 having just 20 beds. The Home has since been tastefully extended to provide the 44 beds that we now have. The Home’s accommodation compromises of 3 double rooms for those wishing to share and 38 single bedrooms. All rooms have WC and bathroom facilities close by, with 10 rooms having en-suites. The rooms are located on two floors, the main entrance being on the first floor and there is a large passenger carrying lift for those unable to manage stairs.
The Home is well equipped with a variety of mobility and nursing aids to ensure we can meet the needs of our residents and has been designed and furnished to ensure wheelchair access to all rooms, including WCs and bathrooms. Both bathrooms are equipped with modern state of the art Parker baths and we also have two wet rooms for those who prefer a shower, one of which has a variable height shower trolley. The bedrooms are large enough for all equipment required to support nursing care including a nurse call system and a suite of furniture with a lockable facility should the client wish to maintain safe keeping of personal effects. Residents are welcome to bring their own personal belongings and other items to their rooms. All rooms have television points to a digital aerial, and sky television can be arranged if needed. Personal telephone lines can also be fitted if preferred. All bedrooms will soon also benefit from free Wi-Fi access.
The Home has several communal areas including a lounge, a sun-lounge, a dining room, two patios, one of which has a water feature, as well as garden areas. It is in these areas that we run our activities programmes and encourage our residents to socialise with other residents and guests, should they wish to do so. We also welcome and assist family and friends to use these communal areas on special occasions, such as celebrating their loved one’s birthdays.
