Hillside House Nursery has two settings, based in the beautiful Shropshire countryside just outside the town of Shrewsbury. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate attributes such as kindness, patience and a genuine love of children. The nursery has had a continuation of Good and Outstanding Ofsted reports since it opened in 2002. The nursery would be interested in hearing from applicants who meet the above criteria and who have the drive to contribute to our ongoing pursuit of excellence. Working with children
· The applicant will have a passion for working with young children and be able to build authentic, positive, effective and professional relationships with children aged from 0-5 years
· The applicant will be able to support children in their learning and development through effective interactions and thoughtful planning in the short medium and long term
Working with parents
· The applicant will be able to build positive, effective and professional relationships with parents and communicate successfully everyday
· The applicant must be able to share the children’s experiences, their learning and development with parents. The applicant must listen to parents about the child’s progress at home and use this information to further support the child
Working professionally in a team and individually
· The applicant must be able to communicate with colleagues effectively and to ensure the smooth day to day running of the nursery and to ensure all children and parents are supported in every way
· The applicant must be self-motivated and be able to manage the documentation that supports their key group of children

The applicant must.
· Follow all of Hillside House Nursery’s policies and procedures
· Have a good working knowledge of the Statutory Framework
· Have a good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
· Have a good working knowledge of the safeguarding and welfare requirements

· Hillside House Nursery and Pre-School is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All posts holders are subject to a satisfactory DBS check at an enhanced level
· A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification within Early Years.
· The post is 40 hours per week on a flexible basis (Plus one monthly 2-hour staff meeting) Applicants must be able to work at both the Hillside House Nursery settings, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7.45am -6.00pm
Hillside House Nursery is a Pre-school and Nursery offering a comprehensive and exciting curriculum for young children from birth to five years of age. We are open 51 weeks of the year and our operating times are Monday to Friday from 7:50am to 6.00pm. In setting up Hillside House Nursery we have considered what we would want for our own children. We would all wish for our children to be happy, fit and healthy, confident and secure, sociable, kind and caring to others, independent with a clear idea of right and wrong, eager to learn and a big sense of fun.
