Our Client are looking to employ a Level 2 or 3 Qualified Nursery Nurse or Room Leader for their fantastic all-weather Day Nursery based near Faversham, Kent. The suitable nursery candidate must be passionate, dedicated and driven to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children, to maintain a stimulating and enjoyable environment.
Key Responsibilities for Qualified Nursery Nurse and Room Leader
- Deliver outstanding learning opportunities and exceptional care
- Plan and provide effective teaching and learning
- Complying with the health and safety legislation
- Support and liaise with the manager, deputy manager and room leader on a daily basis. Maintaining security, working within the required standards, ratios and conditions of registration
- To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
- To help set up the rooms for the daily routine and help tidy away at the end of the session, ensuring that all the toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
- Lead and inspire the team to work towards a common goal, sharing ideas and feedback to ensure consistency.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach using your initiative and showing resilience to take responsibility for getting things done.
- Demonstrate and ensure good practise and compliance with the current EYFS framework through adherence to the nursery Policies and procedures.
- Maintaining and monitoring of accurate and effective children’s records and completion of progress checks.
- Support the team to promote diversity and equality
- Safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children
- Setting up and decontamination of instruments
- Make accurate and effect assessments of the children during the stages of development
- Manage the individual dietary, health, comfort and care needs of each individual child.
Requirements
- Minimum level 2 or 3 in childcare and education or equivalent.
- Knowledge of child development
- Awareness of Health and Safety
- A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities
- Knowledge of regulations in relation to child protection/safeguarding
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS
- Ability to communicate clearly with both children and adults using a variety of techniques.
