We are currently looking for a qualified childcare professional to take on the role of Assistant Deputy Manager/Room Leader within the nursery, who will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of their group. They will perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills to others. They are creative and reflective leaders, able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice and support our management team.
Applicants must have:
- 3+ years’ experience working within a nursery setting.
- experience working with children from babies to preschool
- Previous experience as Room Leader/ Group Leader in a nursery setting.
Level 3 qualified or above.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work closely with other Group Leaders to ensure continuity and planning/ activities and the environment are enhanced alongside each other, and to support their teams in their absence.
- To reflect on practice and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs and interests of each child throughout the day.
- To complete peer on peer observations and support your room/ group staff to complete peer on peer observations.
- To oversee the completion of observations and assessments of children's Tapestry learning journals/ development records, ensuring all records are kept up to date by all staff in your group. Issues and concerns to be reported to our management team.
- To assist in the development and support of other staff member by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and experiences, delegating tasks appropriately, identifying training needs, leading room/ group meetings, supporting inductions for new staff - with support from the nursery management and senior management team.
Job Type: Full-time (Part time 4 days will be considered)
Salary: dependant on experience.
Schedule:
• 8 hour shift basis
